Basal cell carcinoma (BCC), also called epithelioma, is not only the most frequent type of skin cancer, but also the most common in the world. It originates in basal cells of the epidermis and hair follicles, it is locally invasive, aggressive and destructive, affecting the skin and surrounding structures as well. Objective: To determine the pathological association in relation to the epidemiological and clinical profile of basal cell carcinoma in Minsa hospitals in the Cusco region. Method: Descriptive, relational, observational, retrospective, quantitative and crosssectional study. The sample studied were 148 patients with an anatomopathological diagnosis of Basal Cell Carcinoma in the Minsa hospitals of Cusco, a survey was applied to obtain epidemiological, clinical and anatomopathological data. Results: There was a population of 148 patients with a pathological diagnosis of BCC, the most frequent histopathological subtype in Minsa hospitals in the region was nodular, since it represented 55.4%, the basosquamous subtype represented 12.8%. The pigmented nodular clinical diagnosis 54.7% was higher than the ulcerated nodular 45.3%. The predominant age group was that of the elderly (over 60 years of age) represented by 77.0%. Basal cell carcinoma occurred more frequently in the female sex 55.4%, regarding the topographic location of the lesion represented 34.5% of the lesions were found in the nose, followed by the cheeks 18.2%, the The affected area with predominantly high risk is located in Area H with 35.1%, whose size is greater than 6 mm, the highest concentration of the male gender in the sclerodermiform and basosquamous subtypes (53.8% and 57.9%). , respectively. While the female gender had a higher percentage representation in the nodular, sclerosing, infiltrative and micronodular subtypes (58, %, 66.7%, 60% and 53.3%, respectively). conclusions. BCC presented in people older than 60 years, female gender, pigmented nodular clinical variant, nose and cheek location, evolution greater than 6 months and less than 12 months, poorly defined borders. The basosquamous BCC in the male gender and the infiltrative BCC in the female gender. Basosquamous BCC is the most frequent in older adults and is the subtype of BCC with the highest recurrence. The sclerodermiform and micronodular subtypes presented in an evolution time greater than 24 months of evolution.
