The nutritional status of children is related to child welfare and cognitive development; inadequate nutritional status has adverse effects on child health, malnutrition is a problem that constitutes one of the main fields of health with social impact. Cusco has a big problem with its inhabitants especially in rural areas and in marginal areas. Initial Education Center Santa Rosa Revolutionary 470 is located in the district of San Sebastian Cusco. It is one of the schools that hosts a large number of children under 5 years. The overall objective was to determine the nutritional status of children of Initial Educational Institution Revolutionary Santa Rosa 470 and identify the general characteristics of children under five who attend the institution Assess nutritional status by using anthropometric indicators in children under 5 years attending the Initial Educational Institution is determined that the Regarding diagnosis of weight / height 73% of children evaluated have normal diagnosis.18% are at nutritional risk and 9% of children are diagnosed with acute malnutrition. On height for age, 68% had normal diagnosis, 23% are at nutritional risk and 9% had diagnosis of chronic malnourished. Diagnosis on weight for age 65% of children are in a normal range. However, 16% are in nutritional risk and 3% are global malnourished. Obesity with 15% appears as a fourth major diagnosis.
