The objective of this research was to identify the variations of position of the lower dental canal, with respect to the apexes of the first and second lower molar in digital tomography of the Luis Vallejo Santoni clinic in 2018. The research was descriptive and transversal, consisting of a sample of 145 digital tomographies of the Luis Vallejo Santoni Clinic of the Andean University of Cusco. The evaluation of the position of the lower dental canal and the distances to the apex of the first and second lower molar was performed with a Yrys software Viewer 2017 version; For the data analysis, a systematization matrix was handled, a descriptive analysis was performed and a chi-square homogeneity test was established. As results were obtained, that 53% is female and 47% male. The position of the lower dental canal with respect to the first and second molar is the lingual and vestibular position, the average distance of the canal to the apexes is 1,398 mm. The position with the closest proximity of the lower dental canal to the bone tables is the lingual and vestibular table; the closest average distance of the dental canal to the bone tables is 1.2mm. In conclusion it was determined that the average is 1,398mm with a standard deviation of 0.67mm. When determining the variations of position of the lower dental canal according to the first and second lower molar.
