OBJECTIVE: Determine the association between the severity of pruritus and quality of life in girls from 3 to 8 years of age at the San Martín de Porres Private Educational Institution. MATERIALS AND METHOD: Correlational, prospective, cross-sectional and non- experimental study. General data were collected from the participants. Three validated surveys were used to evaluate the quality of life (IDQOL) and the CDLQI) for the severity of Pruritus (ISS). The data were processed using the SPSS statistical program for univariate and bivariate analysis. RESULTS: The median found for the pruritus severity scale was 17 points and the dermatological quality of life was 12 points among girls under 3 to 8 years of age at the San Martin de Porres educational institution. There is a statistically significant association between the severity of pruritus and dermatological quality of life (Rs = 0.719, p<0.05). Spearman's rho statistic confirms a good relationship between the variables (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: The severity of pruritus is a risk factor for developing poor dermatological quality of life.
