Abstract: El estudio investiga las variables Esquemas Mentales y consumo de sustancias en la
población específica de estudiantes de una universidad Cusqueña. El enfoque es descriptivo
correlacional; el diseño no experimental. La muestra poblacional consiste en 278 estudiantes de
estudiantes. Se aplicó el cuestionario de Esquemas Mentales de Young y el Assist. Los resultados
se orientan a relacionar las categorías destacadas de ambas variables. El esquema desadaptativo
Metas Inalcanzables tiene asociación moderada con el consumo de cannabis, cocaína,
alucinógenos y opiáceos. El esquema Autocontrol Insuficiente se asocia en poca medida al
consumo de bebidas alcohólicas, alucinógenos y opiáceos. El esquema Negatividad/Pesimismo se
asocia en poca medida al consumo de tabaco, tranquilizantes e inhalantes.

The approach is correlational descriptive; the non- experimental design. The population sample consists of 278 student students. Young's Mental Schemas questionnaire and Assist were applied. The results are aimed at relating the prominent categories of both variables. The maladaptive scheme Unattainable Goals has moderate association with the use of cannabis, cocaine, hallucinogens and opiates. The Insufficient Self-Control scheme is associated to a small extent with the consumption of alcoholic beverages, hallucinogens and opiates. The Negativity/Pessimism scheme is associated to a small extent with the consumption of tobacco, tranquilizers and inhalants.
