The research work is detailed below, has been developed in a purely practical context, with the theoretical support that merits a project of this magnitude. It was developed in the career of Biology of UNSAAC with the students of 3rd semester in the course of Systematic I, course where students learn the scientific language that will last for the rest of his career. The course is considered important because it marks the beginning of what we mean their daily work as biologists, depending on the chosen specialty. Students enrolled in the course of the semester Systematic I 2015-I, were 51, which was divided into 2 groups Alpha and Beta. Alpha which in total were 25, were students in which, prior informed consent, research was applied, which was to develop with them study skills as mnemonics to have a significant learning of the scientific names and these names will last throughout their learning without resorting to rote only for partial evaluations. 4 applicative lectures before each assessment were developed. On completion, they made a satisfaction test to verify their acceptance of the technique. By contrast, the Beta group was the group of26 other students who were not applied the technique to study and concluded the course according to their own study habits. The results were revealing in determining that students who had used mnemonic techniques of study, had submitted a better academic performance, compared to those who didn´t, thus asserting the general hypothesis that we seek mnemonics determine that improves academic performance versus memorization. Determining that through a mean difference, 88% of students in the alpha group passed the course compared to 53.8% of the beta group, so it was determined that no significant difference between men and women in development technical and thus a substantial improvement in academic performance between the sexes. Age is no obstacle for that purpose. It is recommended to apply the mnemonics in other courses to improve academic achievement and improve student level.
