Descriptive, quantitative, retrospective, not experimental design, cross-section, with a sample of 58 patients, whose objective is to determine the management of referrals and counter-obstetric patients. Results: The sociodemographic characteristics are living in rural area 57% between 19- 34 years of age, level of education 50% high, 60% are cohabiting, 100%, just as 100% have comprehensive health insurance ( SIS), their reproductive characteristics are 36% with second pregnancy, 91% had institutional deliveries, 76% recorded as history using natural planning method; regarding the handling of references health center Huancarani, 40% of the health problem was identified by the patient, 83% were accompanied, 96% did not use public transport to go to the health center, 25% were referred by hemorrhage in the first half of pregnancy, the type of drug administered is sodium chloride 9%, 67% referred by a doctor, 100% in stable condition, all references are coordinated, with the producing unit Reference destination emergency service, 100% is subsidized insurance, 100% were referred by ambulance; regarding the management of referrals from the community level, these are not made in the Health Center Huancarani. The condition in which the patient arrives at the destination hospital is stable at 100%, the response capacity of the destination service stations was higher at 100%, the rating was justified by 100%, no counter-blades were found. Control regarding monitoring, supervision and / or evaluation of the references are not performed. There were no cases of maternal mortality. KEYWORDS: reference counterreferral obstetric patients.
