The present research work entitled “ATTITUDES AND PRACTICE OF EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS WHO COME TO THE HOSPITAL ANTONIO LORENA CUSCO -2017“, had as its objective: to determine the attitudes and practices of exclusive breastfeeding mothers who come to the Hospital Antonio Lorena of Cusco 2017. Was an observational descriptive and cross-sectional design in a probabilistic sample of 156 that met the criteria for inclusión. The results obtained in the present study were: More than half of mothers in the study are in the age group of 25 to 35 years, 60% comes from urban area. The 47% are single, 71% have high school, 37 per cent re bilingual dominate the Quechua and Spanish, 36% are students, 42 per cent of mothers has a monthly income of 400 to 699 new soles. With regard to the attitudes of mothers the 51% have a favorable attitude, 38% are undecided that during the first 6 months of life, the baby should be fed only breast milk, 26% do not believe that breastfeeding prevents diarrheal and respiratory diseases in the baby, 33% are undecided that the formula is the best choice for mothers 30% undecided that the baby's sucking in the breastfeeding stimulates the secretion of milk in the mother, 56% are in disagreement that the good grip and the position of the baby avoid cracks and pain in the nipples, 51% agree that produces joy and satisfaction to know that breastfeeding helps in the growth and development of the baby, 49% believe that breastfeeding helps to create bonds of love with the baby, 37% are uncomfortable having to breastfeed your baby constantly, 34% dislike breastfeeding because it produces pain in the nipples during breastfeeding, 39% dislike wake your baby at night to give 42% of breastfeeding, monitor the baby's mouth which should be open by grabbing all the areola and nipple, 36% do not stimulate the reflection of search approaching the nipple to the labial commissure of the baby, 40% provide breastfeeding when the baby is awake without taking into account the amount of hours you sleep, 54% placed his hand on the chest in the form of “C“, 56% does not supplemented with artificial milk for achieving better nutrition and finally in 58% of the practices have regular practice, 95% do not wash their hands before giving exclusive breastfeeding, 56% do not have proper posture for breastfeeding, 83% have good contact with their babies, 89% does not manage breastfeeding on demand, 87% do not have a good length in the exclusive breastfeeding and the 93% manages exclusive breastfeeding.
