The purpose of this thesis is to implement a mathematical model using the Hec-Ras soft version 5.0.1 as a tool, which was developed by the Corps of Engineers US Army. By using this tool, it was simulated scenarios for different return periods, the goal is to identify the main flow process in Ramuschaca River, where transport of solids are included, analyzing the behavior and system response in front of extraordinary events as extreme rainfall that may arise in Zurite district, as we could verify in the last years was one of the most chocking extreme rainfall 2010. The mathematical model Hec-Ras, simulates flows in one and two dimensions for modeling flow channels with permanent and variable, which is may include solid materials transporting (concentrates flows) resulting from landslides and others. The model allows simulate flow in complex topographies and urban areas and floodplains, as well as exchange of flows that can occur between the main channel and floodplain. The input parameters required by the tool are: the digital terrain model (channel of geometry), roughness values of the channel and floodplain, hydrographs input (liquidsolid) material properties of drag (classification soils), solid material Concentrations in the liquid flow present. For the development of this study was taken as study element Ramuschaca river basin, which is located in the district of Zurite of the province of Anta. This basin is located on the geological fault line Zurite that extreme events of heavy rain causing increased flow due to runoff is likely to cause landslides and collapses on the head of the basin, which directly affect the population center of Zurite causing flooding overflow channel of the river population. The geodynamic activities presented as a result of heavy rains, put in imminent risk to the population of Zurite, which has developed its population and housing growth on the floodplains of the river Ramuschaca. Situation that has occurred in past years like 2003 and 2010, events that affected much of the population of Zurite. With the hydraulic simulation Ramuschaca river and using the mathematical model Hec-Ras, flooding areas for return periods of 10, 25, 50 and 100 years weredetermined, obtaining results prone areas flood as liquid flows solids defined in the investigation. This work aims to make a contribution in the study of flows that include of solid materials transportation in our environment, initializing an interesting line of research linked to the study of extreme rainfall events. Besides we pretend to spread the use of informatics tools using mathematical models to assist in obtaining results and allow to analysis of such events, to facilitate the task and raising awareness of prevention against natural phenomena, providing enough information to the public in a simple and technically way. In addition, we invite to treat the rivers, as living beings that they are, respecting and valuing their presence and transcendence in our own lives.
