Abstract: La investigación intitulada “Factores Asociados a la mortalidad neonatal
mortalidad neonatal (p=0,017 < 0,05)
The investigation entitled “Factors Associated with neonatal mortality treated at the Regional Hospital of Cusco, in the year 2019“. Its objective was to determine the factors associated with neonatal mortality in the Regional Hospital of Cusco, in 2019. Methodology: Descriptive, correlational, retrospective, cross-sectional, the sample population consisted of 72 medical records of deceased neonates, in the period from January to December 2019, the technique was observation, the instrument was a guide for documentary observation of medical records. Results: Regarding maternal factors; 66.7% are between the ages of 19 to 34 years, 50.0% had secondary education; 80.6% are cohabiting, 38.9% presented urinary tract infection during pregnancy, 52.8% come from rural areas and 63.9% were multiparous: In relation to neonatal factors: 58.3% are male, 33.3% had only 6 prenatal controls, 52.8% were born by eutocic delivery, 86.1% of neonates were premature, 34,7% had a low weight of 1500g. at 2499 g at birth; 48.6% had 4 to 6 points at minute 5 in the Apgar test, 91.7% had other pathologies among which stood out respiratory distress syndrome, hyaline membrane disease and sepsis, 66.7% of deliveries they were treated in health centers. According to the days in which the neonates died, 59,7% of mortality was early, 25.0% late, and 15.3% immediate. It is concluded that there is a significant association between the maternal marital status factor and neonatal mortality (p = p = 0.058 <0.05); In the same way, it is concluded that there is a significant association between the neonatal Apgar factor at 5 minutes and neonatal mortality (p = 0.017 <0.05)
