The thesis titled "Comparison of the effectiveness of surgical treatment with plates vs. nails in tibia fractures in patients of EsSalud Cusco, 2023" was born with the purpose of conducting a comparison to identify which method provides better results in terms of fracture stability, bone healing, functional recovery, quality of life, and patient satisfaction, in order to inform clinical decisions and improve medical care. The main problem was to understand the effectiveness of surgical treatment with plates vs. nails in tibia fractures in patients of EsSalud Cusco, 2023, with the objective of determining the effectiveness of surgical treatment with plates vs. nails in tibia fractures in patients of EsSalud Cusco, 2023. This research analyzed 62 patients treated for tibia fractures in EsSalud Cusco in 2023, comparing the surgical methods of plates and intramedullary nails in the same institution and period. The type of research was basic, descriptive with a comparative scope, non-experimental cross-sectional design, quantitative approach. The results of the comparison between surgical treatment with plates and with nails in tibia fractures indicate that the use of plates tends to offer better results in stability, bone healing, functional recovery, quality of life, and patient satisfaction. Although both treatments are effective, the evidence suggests a slight advantage for plates.
