The purpose of this research is to identify the perception of accompanied birth care in pregnant women who attend the Antonio Lorena Hospital in Cusco 2022. Childbirth is a physiological and natural process that all pregnant women go through. The present research has a qualitative phenomenological approach, its objective is to describe the perceptions of birth with a companion in pregnant and postpartum women from the obstetrics service of the Antonio Lorena hospital in Cusco. The study population was made up of 16 women, including pregnant and postpartum women, who had a companion (partner, mother or another family member). In data collection, a semi-structured interview guide was applied, to then analyze the perception of birth with a companion and lived experiences. The results obtained allowed us to know the perception of the women where three study categories were considered: participation of the companion, the pregnant women perceived that the birth care with a companion was good and of great help during their birth, on the other hand in terms of emotional support and psychological, it was possible to obtain that the pregnant and postpartum women interviewed expressed feeling safe and confident since they received words of encouragement, security, confidence during and after their delivery care. Regarding professional treatment, it was possible to obtain evidence where the attention of the staff on duty was respectful and kind, from their admission and throughout their stay in the hospital, however in some cases they indicated that they were mistreated since some professionals did not practice respect and professionalism. Conclusion on the perception of birth with a companion of pregnant and postpartum women who were treated at the Antonio Lorena hospital had positive experiences.
