The main objective of this research was to establish the relationship between emotional intelligence and received parenting styles among aggressive users attending the San Sebastián Community Mental Health Center, Cusco – Peru 2023. Participants were assessed using two psychometric instruments: the EQ-I BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory for adults, which measured the variable of emotional intelligence, and the EMBU (Egna Minnen Betraffanden Uppfostrain or Memories of Upbringing) corresponding to the measurement of parenting styles variable. According to its objectives, the research corresponds to a quantitative correlational approach, with a non-experimental cross-sectional research design, with a sample of 218 participants, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical program. As a major conclusion, a significance level below 5% was observed, being equal to 0.013, indicating a relationship between emotional intelligence and received parenting styles. Therefore, parenting experiences play an important role in the development of individuals' emotional intelligence.
