The aim of this study was to determine the level of psychological factors associated with suicidal ideation in university students in the city of Cusco - 2023. The study population were students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Andean University of Cusco, with n = 355, where 72.4% were women and 27.6% men. A non-experimental, predictive, cross-sectional designwas used. For data analysis, correlational analysis and linear regression were used to dependent variable (Suicidal ideation) from the predictor or independent variables (Anxiety, Self-esteem, Impulse control, Hopelessness and Depression). The results of the regression model indicate that anxiety, self-esteem, depression and hopelessness predict suicidal ideation by 36%. Regarding sociodemographic data, what was striking is that most of the participants obtained medium level scores for suicidal ideation, most of them being women (58.4%) and at least 50% of all ages presented medium level suicidal ideation. The professional school with the highest percentage of suicidal ideation was Obstetrics (67.6%), followed by Psychology (66.3%), and the one with the lowest percentage was Stomatology (47.9%). Finally, the results of this research are discussed with the background, theoretical bases and practical implications.
