The present investigation was carried out with the purpose of carrying out a study on the level of Alveolar Bone Resorption in type 2 diabetic patients, in our environment. For this, all the dental pieces present in 30 patients of the Diabetic Club of the National Hospital “Adolfo Guevara Velasco“ were examined. patients, who met the selection criteria, underwent clinical examination and digital panoramic radiographs were taken with a calibrated plate, to then determine the loss of alveolar bone along the roots of each tooth mesially and distally. Of the 30 patients who participate, from 51 to 55 years are 7 patients; 5 presents resorption of 1-3 mm and 2 of 4-6 mm. Most have lower resorption. From 56 to 60 years are 11 patients; 5 present’s resorption of 1-3 mm and 6 of 4-6 mm. From 61 to 65 years old there are 9 patients; 2 presents resorption of 1-3 mm and 7 of 4-6 mm. This is the most affected group. From 66 to 70 years old there are 3 patients; 1 presents resorption of 1-3 mm and 2 of 4-6 mm. This is the group least affected. In the right upper postero-area 14 patients, 5 of them presented resorption of 1-3 mm and 9 of 4-6 mm and in the upper left postero-area 6 patients of which 3 had resorption of 1-3 mm and 3 of 4 -6 mm. Of the 30 patients who participate, 7 patients have the affected lower antero region, 4 present resorption of 1-3 mm and 3 of 4-6 mm. In the right lower postero-area 16 patients of which 8 presented resorption of 1-3 mm and 4-6 mm and in the lower left postero-area, 10 patients of which 3 had resorption of 1-3 mm and 7 of 4 -6 mm. According to the time of the disease, from 0 to 1 year old son 2 patients; 1 presents resorption of 1-3 mm and 1 of 4-6 mm. From1 to 2 years are 4 patients; 3 presents resorption of 1-3 mm and 1 of 4-6 mm. From 2 to 3 years are 3 patients; 2 presents resorption of 1-3 mm and 1 of 4-6 mm. From 3 to 4 years are 2 patients; 1 presents resorption of 1-3 mm and 1 of 4-6 mm. From 4 to 5 years are 19 patients; 6 presents resorption of 1-3 mm and 13 of 4-6 mm. All the information collected can help all social groups, and jointly undertake medical and odontological, health campaigns aimed at this vulnerable group of people and aimed at providing information, prevention and treatment of these diseases; with the sole objective of being able to control them and try not only their oral and general health, but also their psychological health.
