The investigation has the name: “OPERATIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE ROAD IMPACT GENERATED BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BRT LANE IN THE AV. OF CULTURE AND ITS PROLONGATION IN THE CITY OF CUSCO”. The delays generated by public transport due to the increasing number of private vehicles do not cease, every day, vehicles destined for the transport of passengers and cargo enter the city of Cusco, and since there are no proposals for road planning it is observed that the majority of Main and secondary urban roads of the city of Cusco are affected in the quality of service, expressed in inadequate service levels and traffic times. The methodology contained in the research is: quantitative approach, descriptive level, hypothetical-deductive method and experimental design. It is proposed the inclusion of a BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) lane for the exclusive circulation of public transport buses in the Av. De la Cultura and its extension that includes from Huáscar Avenue to the control of San Jerónimo, for the determination of the traffic conditions the vehicle capacity was carried out, considering the hours of greatest demand, determination of geometric conditions of the road and determination of traffic lights conditions at each intersection, with the data obtained an operational analysis was carried out (road capacity, service levels, delays ) based on the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM 2010) with the Synchro 8.0 simulation software, software that allowed us to simulate the road corridor studied in its current state, recovering a lane for the BRT in its current state and building a BRT lane Additional for public transport. In conclusion, when comparing the diagnosis of the current state of the road and the proposal of a lane reduction, it was obtained that service levels and road capacity do not allow adequate operational conditions, and with the exclusive BRT lane construction for public transport it results in greater road capacity and a better level of service throughout the road corridor under study.
