The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the road surface condition index (PCI and VIZIR methods) and the pavement roughness index in the Urbanization La Florida in the city of Cusco, year 2022. For this purpose, a theoretical analysis of previous research and bibliographic publications on these indicators was carried out, which concluded in an engineering design that defined the route of the research. The methodology of the study follows an applied, quantitative, and correlational method. Likewise, 32 representative sample units were defined and distributed in all the streets that make up the urban area of La Florida, from which the data for the calculation of the PCI and VIZIR indexes were obtained by means of detailed record sheets. The procedure was heterogeneous for each index, the calculation of the PCI index was carried out with the support of the “EvalPav” software, while the VIZIR or Is index was carried out manually through an Excel workbook, while the IRI was determined with the “IRI application. Regularity. Roads”, which yields the values through a circular route through the streets of the urbanization. The last method consisted of using Spearman's Rho correlation test to find the highest degree of association between the indexes. The main results were that the PCI method represents a better alternative for identifying pavement condition in urban areas, since the VIZIR method does not consider type B failures, which are important in this type of place. Specifically, an average value for the PCI index of 53.81 was determined, which reflects a "FAIR" condition of the roads, and 2.4 for the VIZIR method, which represents a rating of "GOOD"; as for the roughness index IRI, changes were found in the values of each road, ranging from 0.2 to 3.43 in some sections. Likewise, the results for each road and sample unit were presented in an identification map to graph the state of the pavement of each road and propose a scalable solution to more streets in the area. Finally, it was determined that the PCI index has a better relationship with the Roughness index with a coefficient P = -0.45 and a p-value = 0.008, while the VIZIR method did not obtain significant results in the test.
