Background: Worldwide, dentulism represents one of the greatest public health problems in the world, because it has negative consequences in terms of function, esthetics, etc. The purpose of prosthetic rehabilitation is to rehabilitate missing teeth. Oral hygiene plays an important role, and with poor oral hygiene come other periodontal conditions. As a result, it is known that a high percentage of patients presented periodontitis, in addition to gingival recession and bleeding, considering that oral hygiene proved to be deficient. Methods: A descriptive observational study was carried out. The sample consisted of 169 patients between 30 and 90 years of age with PPR. The periodontal analysis was performed using a periodontogram that allowed to evaluate: periodontal disease, gingival recession, tooth mobility, gingival bleeding, probing depth. In addition to an evaluation of oral hygiene and plaque index assessment according to O’leary. Results: Of the 100% of the analyzed patiens, 59,8% were female. 100% of the patients presented periodontal disease, being gingivitis the most frequent with 78,1%. 92,3% presented gingival recession (among its variants). At the depth of probing, 45,6% presented mild probing. At the insertion level, 57,4% presented a severe leve lof insertion. In dental mobility, 66,9% presented degree 0 of mobility. In gingival bleeding, 58% presented it. As for the O’leary plaque index, 92,3% presented poor oral hygiene and 91,1% have regular hygiene habits. Conclusiones: This study showed that th periodontal status of the abutment teeth of patients rehabilitated with PPR had some periodontal deficiency. Considering that 100% have periodontal disease (gingitivis - periodontits). In addition to having poor oral hygiene for the most part.
