A habit is any activity done regularly and unconsciously, which is acquired by experience. Objective: To determine the influence of parafunctional oral habits in the manifestation of malocclusions in primary dentition in children aged 03 to 05 years in the “Patrón de San Jerónimo“ Garden. Material and Method: An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out. A systematic random sample was selected for 179 children aged 03 to 05 years old with inclusion and exclusion criteria. In coordination with the Garden authority, parents were informed of the purpose of the research and their consent to allow their children to be included in the study, considering the ethical and legal aspects of the research. The data were recorded in a previously validated clinical file. The detection of different parafunctional oral habits in children was performed in two stages: in the first stage a survey was applied to the father of the family; in the second stage the clinical assessment of the child was performed. It was considered as present functional habit when the father's information and the clinical diagnosis coincided positively. The statistical processing and analysis of the information was performed through the statistical program SPSS version 20. Result: The predominant parafunctional oral habit is the suction lip with 89.4% and in a lower percentage we have bruxism with 45.3%; In terms of malocclusion, the predominant class I is 88.3% followed by class II division 1 with 5.6%, class II division 2 with 3.9% and class III with 2.2%. Conclusion: If the behavioral oral habits influence the manifestation of malocclusions in primary dentition in children from 03 to 05 years of age in the garden “Patrón de San Jerónimo“
