Objective: The main objective of the research was to determine the relationship between the level of anxiety and depression in adolescents diagnosed with acne who attend the dermatological consultation of the Antonio Lorena Hospital in Cusco in the period of September 2022 - February 2023. Materials and method: An observational, cross-sectional, retrospective study was carried out. The population consisted of 77 adolescents who attended the dermatological consultation of the Antonio Lorena Hospital in Cusco, from September 2022 to February 2023, the sample was of a non-random type of census sampling. Two validated surveys in virtual format (google forms) were used as a data collection technique, the Zung test for depression and the Beck anxiety inventory, in addition to this the Spanish EGAE acne severity scale was applied to evaluate the severity. Results: The prevalence of acne was more affected in the male sex with 57.1% compared to the female sex with 42.9%. In addition, in this study, some level of anxiety and depression was seen in adolescents diagnosed with acne, in 81.9% and 62.4% respectively. A statistically significant relationship was also found regarding the severity of acne and the level of depression with a chi-square of 28.015 and a value of p=0.001. On the contrary, no relationship was found regarding anxiety (p=0.940). Regarding the treatment of acne regarding the level of anxiety and depression, no significant association was found (p=0.284) and (p=0.457) respectively, which indicates that giving the medication seems to improve the symptoms of depression and anxiety, which helps the patient both in his body image and psychologically. In addition, a strong relationship was found between the level of depression in adolescents diagnosed with acne with a chisquare of 12,793 and a value of p=0.046. While the level of anxiety did not show a statistically significant relationship in adolescents diagnosed with acne (p=0.535). Conclusion: There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of depression in adolescents diagnosed with acne, however the anxiety scores of adolescents with acne did not show a positive relationship.
