This research thesis is titled “KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE IN THE PREVENTION OF PRESSURE ULCERS BY NURSING PROFESSIONALS IN THE HOSPITAL SERVICES OF THE REGIONAL HOSPITAL OF CUSCO, 2018.“ Its objective was: to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice in the prevention of pressure ulcers by nursing professionals in the hospital services of the Regional Hospital of Cusco, 2018. The design method applied was: descriptive, transversal and correlational, and involved the participation of 45 nursing graduates. Results: Regarding the general characteristics of the nursing professionals working within the hospital services of the Regional Hospital of Cusco: 37.8% are between 40 and 49 years old, 11.1% are under 30 years old. 91.1% are female, 28.8% have between 15 and 19 years of service and 8.9% less than 5 years. The medical, surgical and ICU services have 28.9% professionals in each area. 64.4% of professionals have specialization studies. With regard to staff knowledge of pressure ulcers, 73.30% of nursing professionals have a low knowledge level, 26.70% have a medium level of knowledge, and none of the participants have a high level of knowledge. Regarding their practices in the prevention of pressure ulcers, it was found that 48.90% of professionals have an inadequate practice, 37.80% are adequate and only 13.30% have a regular practice. There is no significant relationship between knowledge and practice in the prevention of pressure ulcers (P = 0,893). Being less than 0.05, it is concluded that according to the CHI statistic, there is no relationship between knowledge and practice on the prevention of pressure ulcers, obtaining as a result P = 0.893, this being less than 0.05, with which concludes the non-relationship between knowledge and practices
