The present research has as main objective to determine the frequency of anatomical variants and pathologies in maxillary sinuses observed in panoramic radiographs of the Stomatological Clinic “Luis Vallejos Santoni“ of the Andean University of Cusco. The research was non-experimental, transversal, descriptive and retrospective. The sample consisted of 515 digital panoramic radiographs of patients treated in the Diagnostic Imaging area of the Stomatological Clinic “Luis Vallejos Santoni“, by simple random sampling. The technique that was used for data collection was the observation of radiographic images, which were recorded in an instrument for this purpose. The results show that the female group has a larger percentage than the men of 67% (n = 345) in relation to men, which was 33% (n = 170). With respect to the frequency of the anatomical variant, it can be shown that the most frequent finding was hyperplasia with 63.3%. Then followed by the partitions with 52.8%, with respect to the frequency of the most found pathologies was mucosal thickening with a frequency of occurrence of 32%, followed by sinusitis with 18.1%. The most frequent variant is hypoplasia for the female sex with 71.4%, followed by septa with 68.8%, for the male sex the most frequent variant was hyperplasia with 36.6%, followed by septa with 34.1%. The most frequent pathology was sinusitis for female sex with 80.6%, followed by mucosal thickening with 75.8% for male sex, the most frequent pathology was mucosal retention cyst with 46.2%, followed by polyp with 33.3 %. In conclusion the adult age group has a higher percentage of anatomical variants as partitions with 51.8% followed by hyperplasia with 50%. In frequency of pathologies such as the polyp with a percentage of 100%, followed by sinusitis 53.2%, there is no variation in the appearance of variants and pathologies by location.
