Objective: To determine the factors associated with Acute Diarrheal Disease in patients under 12 years of age at the Santa Rosa Hospital in Puerto Maldonado in the 2022. Materials and methods: This research work is of a basic, analytical, non-experimental, retrospective type; and of cases and controls. The review of medical records was used in the pediatric service of the Santa Rosa Hospital in Puerto Maldonado in the year 2022, we worked with a sample of 130 patients divided into groups of cases and controls with 65 patients in each. The case group consisted of patients with acute diarrheal disease and the controls with patients without acute diarrheal disease. The chi square was used with a 95% confidence test, likewise the OR was used to calculate the risk of the factors. We worked with 7 variables: nutritional status, area of residence, drinking water, previous immunizations, presence of animals at home, exclusive breastfeeding and prematurity. Results: The factors associated with acute diarrheal disease in patients under 12 years of age at the Santa Rosa Hospital in Puerto Maldonado were: nutritional status (p=0.008, OR=2.57; 95% CI: 1.27-5.22), presence of animals at home (p=0.032, OR=2.18, 95% CI: 1.07-4.47) and exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.034, OR= 0.468; 95% CI: 0.232-0.949) turned out to be a protective factor . Conclusions: The associated factors were the absence of exclusive breastfeeding, nutritional status and presence of animals at home.
