As a consequence of the accelerated growth of the automobile fleet and the poor improvement in the physical conditions of the cities, congestion caused by vehicles has become one of the main problems in the urban area, and as a response, road and urban planning is very important. The general problem of this research was to know what is the road impact generated by the expansion of the Real Plaza Shopping Center on Av. La Cultura, its main objective was to analyze the variation in road capacity and service level in the shopping center's road system in the section of Av. La Cultura from Av. Diagonal Angamos to Av. Jose Gabriel Cosio and Ca. Gordon Magne (Magisterio). For the evaluation of traffic conditions, the pedestrian and vehicular gauging was carried out at all intersections in said study section, considering those hours of greatest demand. Likewise, for the evaluation of the geometric conditions of these intersections, a topographic survey was carried out, for the evaluation of traffic light and non-traffic light conditions, a detailed inventory of the behavior of traffic lights and signaling was carried out at each intersection. With the data acquired, the road capacity and the level of service were calculated supported by the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM 2010) which is incorporated in the Synchro 8.0 simulation software, this software allowed to obtain the simulation of the intersections in their current state, future without expansion, future with expansion and future with expansion and mitigation proposal The road system was analyzed in its four scenarios, in all the intersections studied. With the results, the aforementioned procedure was carried out to calculate the road capacity and the level of service with its respective simulation for each of the study scenarios. Reaching the conclusion that the road capacities in the situation with the project and with mitigation measures are considerably better than the current situation and situation with the project scenarios.
