Research whose objective was to identify the sociodemographic, obstetric and pathological characteristics of pregnant women with preterm birth threat, descriptive study, cross-sectional, quantitative, where the results highlight the sociodemographic characteristics found as age between 18 to 34 years (45.17% ); secondary studies (64.74%); cohabitants (58.06%) occupation as a housewife (51.61%). The obstetric characteristics are number of children between 3 to 5 (54.84%); prenatal care less than 6 (64.52%); history of threatened preterm labor (22.58%); nutritional status greater than or equal to 25 – overweight (54.84%). Conclusions: the characteristics of pregnant women with preterm labor threat are age between 18 to 34 years, secondary education, cohabitants, housewives, multiparous, without adequate prenatal controls, overweight.
