Introduction: Urinary tract infection is a common infection that affects 20% of pregnant women. This pathology can lead to complications in the fetus and pregnant mothers. At Cusco Regional Hospital urinary tract infection, it’s the most frequent maternal pathology for premature birth with 75%; main risk factor for premature rupture of membranes and the most frequent maternal pathology of neonatal death in 44.2%. Objective: Determine associated factors with urinary tract infection in pregnant women from the Maternity Service of Cusco Regional Hospital, 2019. Material and method: Observational, correlational, retrospective and cross-sectional analytical study carried out at Cusco Regional Hospital during the period January to December 2019, in 188 (63 cases and 125 controls) pregnant women from the Maternity Service, who met the selection criteria. A review of medical records was carried out for the filling of data collection sheet, a database was entered, the data was analyzed in SPSS® V25 Program. Double-entry contingency tables were used to measure the association of study factors. The statistical significance was evaluated through the values of “p“. Results: The main factors associated with urinary tract infection in pregnant women were secondary instruction with 43% of cases and a value of p: 0,02; OR: 2,37; IC95% [1,164,82] and the previous history of urinary tract infection with 48.3% of cases, a value of p: 0,004; OR:2,53; IC95% [1,33-4,83]. Conclusions: Basic level of instruction and prior history of urinary tract infection were factors associated with urinary tract infection in pregnant women from the Maternity service of Cusco Regional Hospital, 2019.
