Introduction: Cervical cancer is the second most important cause of morbidity and mortality in the female population and generates a serious public health problem; with great personal, social and economic impact due to the morbidity and mortality it causes. Objective: To determine the risk factors associated with cervical cancer in patients of the Adolfo Guevara Velasco EsSalud National Hospital, Cusco in 2017. Material and Methods: Non-experimental, analytical, cases and controls, retrospective and correlational study, performed at the Adolfo Guevara Velasco National Hospital during the period January to December 2017, in 105 (35 cases and 70 controls) patients already attended in the gynecology and oncology service, who met the selection criteria. A review of medical records was made, a database was entered, the SPSS 23 version was used for data processing, with descriptive and basic inferential statistics. Results: The age group that predominates is 41 to 60 years with 45.7%, the factors associated with cervical cancer were the level of education under 45.7% of cases with this variable having p = 0.03, OR = 2.43, CI95% [1.03 - 5.71]; age of the first pregnancy before age 18 with 24.2% of cases, a value of p = 0.007, OR = 5.12, CI95% [1.41 - 18.52]; have more than three pregnancies with 80% of the cases, a value of p = 0.001, OR = 5.03, CI95% [1.94 - 13.05]; initiate sexual relations before the age of 18 with 77.1% of the cases, a value of p = 0.000, OR = 13.5, IC95% [5.05 - 36.06]; have more than three sexual partners with 25.7% of the cases, a value of p = 0.03, OR = 3.12, CI95% [1.05 - 9.25]. Conclusions: The low level of education, the age of the first pregnancy before the age of 18, having more than three pregnancies, beginning sexual realities before the age of 18 and having more than three sexual partners are risk factors associated with cervical cancer in the patients treated at the Adolfo Guevara Velasco National Hospital in the period of the year 2017.
