The present research work entitled Assessment of the socioeconomic impact of the Irrigation Project “Apurimac Canyon” in the bovine milk producing families in the community of Huarca, Yauri District, Espinar Province, 2008-2018, is carried out with the main objective To evaluate the socioeconomic impact generated by the project in the bovine milk producing families of the community of Huarca, through three study variables: productivity, income and living conditions. To achieve this, a descriptive and comparative investigation has been carried out; descriptive because the economic and social characteristics of the beneficiary families were described, as well as the irrigation production system implemented; comparative at the rate that two different time periods will be compared: before and after the implementation of the project in order to evaluate the economic and social changes generated. The means that allowed to gather information and write the present research work were: interviews with the professional in charge of the project, representative of the water users committee, project information found in the Meriss Inka Plan library and the surveys applied to the beneficiary families The results of the research at 2018 show us that the implementation of irrigation infrastructures and the development of capacities in agricultural management and production under irrigation through training actions and technical support to the families benefited by the Special Plan Meriss Project, managed to increase the Milk productivity by improving production yields per head of cattle and hectare under irrigation from 1.5 to 9.6 liters / cow / day and from 231.53 to 6022 liters / hectare / year, all this allowed to boost the commercial flow with the milk collection company PLACME thus generating constant and better family income that range from S /. 6 295 to S /. 28,057 soles per year. Therefore the increase in productivity and economic income allowed improving the living conditions of families, 76% could improve the conditions of their home, 68% have the opportunity to provide a higher education to their children and 84% can to ensure daily consumption of milk, 100% can also buy food for the home, which concludes that the implementation of the Apurimac Canyon Irrigation Project if it generated a socioeconomic impact on the charitable families of the community of Huarca.
