The research work “Characteristics of ablactation in children from 6 to 12 months with inadequate nutritional status who attend the De Lucre Health Post, Cusco - 2020“. Its objective was to determine the characteristics of ablactation in children aged 6 to 12 months with inadequate nutritional status who attend the Lucre Health Post. The quantitative design methodology of a descriptive, observational and cross-sectional type was used, the sample population is 55 children from 6 to 12 months with inadequate nutritional status, whose technique was the interview and the instrument were the survey of the mothers. Results: In the general characteristics; 70.9% are 12 months old; 58.2% male; 98.2% have nutritional risk in height, 100% have nutritional risk in weight and 36.4% are from Muyna. Characteristics of ablactance; 74.5% start eating food at 6 months, 56.4% sometimes receive it on their own plate, who feeds the child is the mother with 100%; 56.4% amount of half a medium plate spread / day; frequency 54.5% of 2-3 times / day; 54.5% consistency of finely chopped, chunks; type of diet: 55% cereals and 45% tubers consume daily; 65% animal foods and 56% legumes or beans consume once a week; Vegetables and vegetables 38% and fruits 45% consume every day, 58% consume sweets and 29% consume vegetable oil once a week, 91% consume iodized salt and 53% do consume prophylactic ferrous sulfate.
