This thesis allowed us to obtain quantitative and qualitative information on the geographical environment of the Chuyapi basin, biophysical behavior, as well as the change in land use and vegetation cover over 24 years through the use of satellite images, finding the variation of the runoff coefficient to propose an adequate design, planning and management of the water resource. The first objective was to determine the biophysical characteristics of the Chuyapi basin, identifying it as a young basin with a large flow discharge, with a high slope hypsometric curve, demonstrating a susceptibility to erosion in the soil surrounding the river and also the greater use capacity CUM according to the slope allowed to determine that the maximum area is 51.29 % in the basin, this belongs to a use of forestry production and the minimum area is 1.04 % to a use of clean crops. The second objective was to determine the changes in vegetation cover presented in the Chuyapi basin between the years 1992 and 2015; thus finding that the greatest variation in unit of coverage was Mosaic of cropland (>50 %) / natural vegetation (tree, shrub, herbaceous cover) (<50 %) which has a variation of 1.89 km which is equivalent in percentage to 45.65 % with a negative trend, the smallest variation of the plant cover unit was Mosaic natural vegetation (tree, shrub, herbaceous cover) (>50 %) / farmland (<50%) has a variation of 0.45 km 2 which is equivalent to percentage to 11.36 % positive trend. As for the runoff coefficient found in the basin for the plant cover unit, the minimum is 0.3469 in 2015 and the maximum found is 0.3560 in 1992. 2 And finally, the objective was to determine the changes in land use presented in the Chuyapi basin between the years 1992 and 2015; thus finding that the greatest variation of the land use unit was Mosaic herbaceous cover (>50 %) / tree and shrub (<50 %) that presents a variation of 0.81 km and this is equivalent to 81.00 % of the area of the basin and presents a positive trend, the smallest variation of the land use unit was Cropland, rainfed has a variation of 0.09 km 2 which is equivalent in percentage to a 4.76 % negative trend. Regarding the runoff found by the land use unit, the minimum runoff coefficient is 0.3142 in 1992 and the maximum is 0.4610 in 2015.
