The present investigation entitled "Analysis of the characteristics of the transition process from rural to urban and its incidence on the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Quillahuata Community, San Sebastián district, Cusco Province, Cusco Region, period 2006 - 2019", whose main objective was to identify the socioeconomic characteristics of the transition process from rural to urban that affect the quality of life of the community's inhabitants. For this, the changes in the economy of the families that generated this transition process were analyzed, considering the change as the conversion of purely rural aspects into urban ones. To this end comparative correlational research was developed, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design and correlational scope. The variables analyzed within the transition process were the socioeconomic characteristics and the quality of life of the settlers, taking information from 2006 as a basis for comparison for the information collected in 2019; in this sense, the sample consisted of 104 families surveyed in person. The results obtained indicate that there is a direct relationship between the characteristics of the transition process from rural to urban and the quality of life of the inhabitants of the community of Quillahuata; using the Chi-square test on the study variables, a p <0.05 was obtained for the economic and social characteristics, affirming that there is sufficient statistical evidence to accept our alternative hypothesis.
