Descriptive, prospective, correlational, not experimental, cross-sectional study aimed at determining aspects of decision making in the choice of contraceptive methods with gender equity in 110 users interviewed. Results: The general characteristics are aged between 18 to 35 years, high school degree for both, marital cohabitants, live in urban areas, professing Catholic religion have 3 children more, have health insurance, contraceptive methods used are 56% injectable quarterly, 26% pills, 13% monthly injectable, time to turn the attention is 30 to 60 minutes, use mobility report having reached quotas always prefer care in the morning, staff fluent in the language of the users, with respect to that offered counseling 60% report that if they explained about the advantages and disadvantages, 55% say they understand about the explanation of each of the methods and 75% said that if they explained about all contraceptive methods , report that there is no privacy regarding the involvement of other people and infrastructure, 60% use contraception deseado62% satisfied with the method, 66% had no family influence when choosing a method of contraception, 52% had influence of friends, 63% have beliefs and myths regarding the use of contraceptive methods, 40% is up to partner and 40% of users making it the decision to use contraception, 60% of users said that the couple knows the use of the method, 90% of users come to the attention alone. Conclusions: Issues related to decision making in the choice of contraceptive methods with gender equity in the Health Center Calca, are the aspects of health and socio-cultural aspects except myths and / or beliefs regarding the use of methods contraceptives.
