determine whether the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio has any predictive value in disease-free survival in patients with breast cancer operated at the Virgen de la Puerta Hospital during the period from June 2018 to June 2024. MATERIAL AND METHOD: An analytical, retrospective analysis of the diagnostic tests was done. One hundred adult female patients over the age of eighteen who had treatment at the Virgen de la Puerta Hospital between June 2018 and June 2024 who were diagnosed with stage I, II, and III breast cancer after undergoing surgery made up the sample. RESULTS: 88% of patients were alive after 52 months; the average age was 55 years, 65.7% of the patients were postmenopausal, 48.5% of these patients corresponded to stage II, and there was a prevalence of the luminal subtype of 56.5% of the total patients evaluated, with histological grade 2 predominating in 45.5% of patients. The DFS in patients with low NLR (≤ 2.58 according to the ROC curve) was higher compared to patients with high NLR (p = 0.003). The NLR obtained a sensitivity of 37.1%, a specificity of 95.3%, a PPV of 81.3%, and NPV of 73.5%. CONCLUSIONS: The NLR in patients with breast cancer who underwent surgery was a predictor of DFS. An NLR value of less than or equal to 2.58 is associated with a higher DFS in patients with breast cancer who underwent surgery.
