During the last few years, there has been an exponential growth in the use of contactless payment methods, with COVID-19 being one of the main reasons. This secure and easy-to-use payment option has become the preferred choice of Peruvians, becoming part of their daily lives. So much so that by the year 2023, more than 40% of the Peruvian population already had these applications on their mobile devices. Thus, Peru became the second market with the highest use of digital wallets in the region, after Colombia (Cuervo, 2024). Despite being a fast payment option, there are still factors that generate some rejection by the population when using these applications. Among the most common reasons, we have security, since 41% of those who do not opt for this payment method are afraid of suffering scams or some kind of theft (García, 2024). For this reason, to better understand the behavior of the Peruvian population in the face of this problem, a study was conducted on the use of mobile wallets, and how security factors influence customer satisfaction. For this research, a sample of 314 users in Metropolitan Lima with an age range between 18 and 39 years was taken. The result obtained was that the variables are positively related to customer satisfaction, with the information provided having the greatest impact on this variable and the speed of the transaction being the least important.
