The objective of this work was to hydraulically evaluate the condition of the Raca Rumi intake, located on the Chancay Lambayeque river, which consists of a movable dike with 03 wagon gates, a fixed dike (Creager profile) of 150 m in length. A 2D hydraulic modeling of the infrastructure was performed by applying computational fluid dynamics with IBER software for a return time of 100 years, this made it possible to identify the critical erosion and sedimentation zones that affect the hydraulic operation of the intake (Scenario 01). The results of the model showed that the infrastructure has high velocities in the area of the mobile dike, which generates erosion on the lining floor of the intake, as well as a sedimentation area upstream of the intake due to the low velocities in the fixed dike. In order to improve the hydraulic efficiency of the intake, two improvement alternatives were proposed. The first alternative solution consists of adding 03 gates with 15 m long dissipation pools to the mobile dike and improving the dissipation pool of the fixed dike (Scenario 02). The second alternative solution consists of adding 06 gates with 15 m long dissipation basins to the moving dike and improving the fixed dike dissipation basin (Scenario 03). From the results of Scenarios 02 and 03, it is concluded that the Scenario 02 alternative. shows an efficient hydraulic operation of the intake, the additional gates improve the hydraulic evacuation capacity of the mobile shaft, as well as improve the capacity to discharge bottom sediments during floods, as well as by hydraulic flushing of sediment accumulations upstream of the intake.
