This research called ""Children's literature workshop to improve reading comprehension in 5-year-old children of an Initial Educational Institution, Trujillo 2024"", was a proposal that arose from the need for students to improve their ability to read and understand the ideas of a text from simple words and images. 25 students were chosen from the 5-year-old classroom. Its general objective was to determine if the children's literature workshop improves reading comprehension in 5-year-old children of an Educational Institution in Trujillo, 2024. To do this, it had a sample of 25 children, to whom a checklist was applied as a data collection instrument. When applying the instrument, at the beginning of the workshop, it was obtained that 40% of the 5-year-old children had a level of reading comprehension at the beginning level, with a similar percentage at the level in process. At the end of the workshop, it was obtained that 92% of children achieved the expected achievement in the area of reading comprehension, demonstrating that the workshop ""Children's Literature"" does improve reading comprehension in five-year-old children of an Early Childhood Educational Institution
