Objective: Compare the pattern of presentation of the occupational audiometric notch and the value of the sum of hearing threshold decibels (SDU) according to the age of the workers from Chimbote city evaluated during the years of 2015 to 2018. Methods: observational, descriptive, transversal and correlation. 1037 audiometric records obtained from a base data of the evaluated patients during the years of 2015 to 2018 in an occupational medical center from Chimbote-Ancash-Perú were studied. The Kolmogorov-Smirov test was applied to determine the normality of the SDU values, the audiometric notch and the age with the finality of choose the most suitable statistics test to correlate our variables of interest. Results: The average age of the study individuals was 39.6 years old (σ: 11.9), of the total 458 (44.2%) presented audiometric notch and an SDU average value of 86.5 Db (σ: 42.1). The prevalence of the audiometric notch according to the age range was 23% (< 20 years); 31.9% (20 - 29 years); 40.4% (30 - 39 years); 48.5% (40 - 49 years); 59.1% (50 - 59 years) and 56.0% (60 - 70 years). The SDU average value according to age was 61.43 Db (< 20 years); 67.61Db (20 - 29 years); 75.02Db (30 - 39 years); 87.46Db (40 - 49 years); 112.62Db (50 - 59 years) y 140.27Db (60 - 70 years). Conclusions: The prevalence of the audiometric notch has a lineal increase in correlation with age, with the exception of the group of 60 to 70 years, in which one it’s evidence a decrease of it, in comparison with the SDU value which follow an exponential increase in relation with the age, even in the oldest age group (60 to 70 years)
