Cytostatics are medications used in cancer treatments and are administered by the nurse, therefore the health professional must have correct knowledge and practice (specialty). In Peru, no recent research has been found that developed this topic of utmost importance for the hospital environment. Objective: to determine the relationship that exists between the level of knowledge and practice of nursing staff on biosafety measures in the management of cytostatic agents in the Ambulatory Chemotherapy area of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases in 2023. Material and method: The study is quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional. The sample population is made up of 32 nurses who work in the Ambulatory Chemotherapy area of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases in 2023. The survey was used as a technique and as instruments, two questionnaires that evaluated the level of knowledge and level of practices, having taken into account ethical principles. Results: the variables under study present significant and positive correlations (rho = 0.87), as well as between their dimensions. Conclusion: the level of knowledge and practice of nursing staff on biosafety measures in the management of cytostatic agents are related.
