The aim of the study was to determine if there is a relationship between self-regulation of learning (SRL) and resilience in medicine and psychology graduates in the city of Metropolitan Lima. Self-regulation refers to the ability to manage and regulate our own learning in a timely and adaptive manner. Resilience refers to the ability to cope with stress and adversity. Both can be of utmost importance for students who carry out learning processes outside the classroom. By developing the SRL capacity, the student is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and regulating his or her own learning, without the need for constant supervision. Health professionals face many situations that link them to human suffering, where resilience will be an important factor in their coping. This study used a quantitative method, cross-sectional design, and simple correlation. The sample was non-probabilistic and data collection was done by snowball. One hundred graduates from 15 private and public universities participated voluntarily; 32% were men and 68% were women, who answered three questionnaires: (1) a sociodemographic form prepared ad hoc for this study, (2) the resilience scale adapted for the Peruvian population by Castilla et al. al. (2016) and (3) the self-regulation of learning scale, adapted for Peruvian population by Gargurevich and Matos (2010). Both scales showed good internal consistency with Cronbach's alpha .87 and .77 respectively. The self-regulation scale is made up of two subscales: autonomy and self-control, both of which showed high consistency with a Cronbach's alpha of .80 and .85. Two Pearson and one of Spearman correlations were carried out, (1) the results showed that there is no relationship between self-regulation of learning and resilience in general (r (99) = .10, p = .32). However, (2) a moderate relationship was found between resilience and the autonomy subdimension of self-regulation of learning; a Spearman range correlations was calculated and a significant positive correlation was found (r(99) =.47, p<.001). (3) No relationship was found between resilience and the self-regulatory control subdimension (r (96) =-.19, p=.06).
