Materials and methods: the approach is quantitative, non experimental, transversal and descriptive in design. The population was made up of 47 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis treated at the Año Nuevo health center. The instrument will be the Brief COPE questionnaire, made up of 3 dimensions (coping strategies focused on the problem, focused on emotions and focused on less functional emotions), 14 indicators (subscales), each with 2 items, giving a total of 28 items, being valid and reliable in the national context. Results: the average age of the participants was 35.21 years. In terms of gender, 63.83% (N=30) were male, 36.17% (N=17) were female. In the problem-focused dimension, 29.79% (N=14) were almost always and 29.79% (N=14) always, followed by 27.66% (N=13) almost never and 12.77%. (N=6) never. In the dimension focused on emotions, 38.30% (N=18) were almost always, 25.53% (N=12) always, 21.28% (N=10) almost never and 14.89% (N =7) never. In the dimension focused on less functional emotions, 36.17% (N=17) were almost never, followed by 29.79% (N=14) almost always, 25.53% (N=12) always and 8 .51%(N=4) never. Conclusions: coping strategies in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis treated at the Año Nuevo Health Center were mostly almost always, followed by always, almost never and never.
