The objective of this research work was to validate the influence of factors associated with technology adoption (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions) on the intention to use electronic payments among residents of Lima. This will provide relevant information for various stakeholders interested in the topic, such as companies that provide this type of service. However, this thesis primarily aims to help micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MIPYMEs) achieve a better understanding of new market trends and the variables that influence changes in preferences—toward electronic payments—among Peruvian consumers. This greater understanding will enable them to be competitive and continue to be an important source of employment and contribution to the country's economy. The focus on this group is due to the more than 2.1 million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises operating (Ministry of Production [PRODUCE], 2021). Considering the above, the research referenced the study titled "Intention to Use Electronic Payments from the Perspective of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT): Evidence from Yemen" by Alduais and Al-Smadi (2022). This was because the article shared the study variables and facilitated the development of the theoretical framework, as well as the formulation of the research problem and hypotheses. To validate the formulated hypotheses, a questionnaire was used that included a total of 23 items. After designing it, the instrument was validated using Aiken's V coefficient (0.99) with the support of three research advisor experts. After validation, all necessary responses were collected for subsequent analysis. It should be noted that the sample for this research consisted of 320 individuals, divided into four groups by gender and age range (18 to 24 years and 25 to 39 years). This was done to also evaluate the existence of a moderating effect of gender and age on the level of influence of the factors associated with technology adoption on the intention to use electronic payments. Once the total results were obtained, an additional step was taken to measure the reliability of the values using Cronbach's Alpha (0.948). Furthermore, a K-S test determined a non-normal distribution, and the Spearman rho coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis were used to accept or reject the formulated hypotheses. The general conclusion obtained was that three of the four variables positively and significantly influence the dependent variable. Additionally, the moderators of gender and age do not generate differences in the level of influence of the study variables on the intention to use electronic payments.
