In the present investigation, a prospective experimental laboratory study was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the sensitivity and specificity of H-E staining based on Hansel Staining (Reference method). The study consisted of evaluating the leukocyturia of 137 patients with kidney and/or urinary tract diseases, of which 55 presented leukocyturia greater than 5 per 40x field. those who were evaluated to determine the presence of eosinophils in urine, making a smear with the urinary sediments of these patients, subsequently they were colored with the Hansel and H-E technique. counting the number of eosinophils in 200 leukocytes. With H-E staining, a sensitivity of 81.5% and a Specificity of 89.3% was obtained, which is why H-E staining is recommended as an alternative method for the diagnosis of Eosinophilia.
