Abstract: El presente trabajo de investigación se centra en la implementación del gemelo digital en el área de mantenimiento del SIMA PERU, un astillero dedicado a la construcción y reparación naval. Se aborda la relevancia de la industria naval, la importancia del mantenimiento de embarcaciones y cómo las tecnologías digitales están transformando esta industria hacia la Industria 4.0. A través de una metodología cualitativa, que incluye entrevistas semiestructuradas y análisis documental, se examina el impacto de la implementación del gemelo digital en la eficiencia, confiabilidad y planificación del servicio de mantenimiento enfocado en el área de mantenimiento del astillero. Se destaca el caso de éxito del astillero Navantia, donde la adopción de esta tecnología ha mejorado significativamente las operaciones de mantenimiento. El estudio revela que, aunque existen desafíos como la integración de sistemas, la capacitación del personal y la ciberseguridad, los beneficios potenciales de implementar gemelos digitales en el mantenimiento naval son considerables. Se concluye con recomendaciones para una implementación efectiva del gemelo digital en SIMA Perú, con el objetivo de mejorar los tiempos de atención, la confiabilidad de los sistemas y la eficiencia en la programación del servicio de mantenimiento.
This research work focuses on the implementation of the digital twin in the maintenance area of SIMA PERU, a shipyard dedicated to shipbuilding and ship repair. It addresses the relevance of the naval industry; the importance of ship maintenance and how digital technologies are transforming this industry towards Industry 4.0. Through a qualitative methodology, including semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis, the impact of the implementation of the digital twin on the efficiency, reliability and planning of the maintenance service focused on the shipyard maintenance area is examined. It highlights the success story of the Navantia shipyard, where the adoption of this technology has significantly improved maintenance operations. The study reveals that, although there are challenges such as systems integration, personnel training and cybersecurity, the potential benefits of implementing digital twins in ship maintenance are considerable. It concludes with recommendations for an effective implementation of the digital twin in SIMA Peru, with the objective of improving service times, systems reliability, and efficiency in maintenance service scheduling.
