Objective: determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes about the prevention of pulmonary tuberculosis in families of patients treated at the Collique III Zone Health Center. Materials and methods: quantitative approach, non-experimental, transversal and correlational design. The population was made up of relatives of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis treated in the C.S Collique III zone. According to the coordinator of the Health Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Tuberculosis, at that time a total of 45 patients were treated. The instruments were a questionnaire to evaluate knowledge and a Likert-type scale to evaluate attitudes, both valid and reliable. Results: the average age was 34.38 years. 20.00% (N=9) of the families have a low level of knowledge. 48.89% (N=22) have a regular level of knowledge, and 31.11% (N=14) reach a high level of knowledge. 20.00% (N=9) of the families show an attitude of rejection towards the prevention of pulmonary tuberculosis. 57.80% (N=26) have an attitude of indifference, while 22.20% (N=10) have an attitude of acceptance. The p value (p=0.001) indicates that there is a statistically significant relationship between the variables. Conclusions: there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes about the prevention of pulmonary tuberculosis in families of patients treated at the Collique III Zone Health Center.
