The objective of this research work is to analyze the implementation of the Last Planner System methodology to improve the project planning reliability, during the execution stage, of the Regional Hospital of Huancavelica’s main building superstructure phase. The project main building was taken as a sample, and data was collected for the respective analysis through direct observation and progress recording. For the data collection, both Plan Complied Percentage and Non-Compliance Causes formats were used as instruments. As a first step, a diagnosis of both planning and execution processes carried out during the first 4 weeks of the superstructure phase was made; during this 4-week period, the LPS methodology tools had been already used, although not efficiently. Then, the problems of both processes were identified, being the low programming reliability the most transcendental. To face this problem, it was developed a planning improvement proposal that consists of a training process and the subsequent efficient methodology application. The results after the implementation were compared against the initial results. The results were obtaining by using the same Plan Complied Percentage and Non-Compliance Causes metrics. Finally, at the end of the execution phase, an analysis on planning, cost and time’s reliability level was developed. Conclusion was that an efficient implementation of the Last Planner System generated a reliable planning that in turn allowed the fulfillment of the project milestones within the previously established schedule and cost.
