The objective of this study was to explain the influence of time management and study habits on the achievement of competencies in the subject of Mathematics II, in students of the curricula at the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Humanities, of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon, Iquitos 2018. The type of this research was explanatory with contemporary, multivariate and transactional fieldwork design. The population consisted of 333 students enrolled in the 2nd semester in the study programs of the FCEH- UNAP 2018; and a sample of 183 students selected from the curricula, stratified random sampling with proportional fixation. The data were collected through a survey and instruments, such as questionnaire and performance test, validated by judges and with an acceptable reliability coefficient. The results show that 55.7% of students in the FCEH curricula say that time management is also inadequate, as well as 55.2% of students, have a good study habit: the place and context of study, study planning, summary of a text, notes in classes, written papers and preparation of an exam are referenced; on the other hand, 52.5% of students do not achieve skills in Mathematics II, i.e. in the Relationships and Functions units; Matrixes and Determinants; Summary and Combinatory Analysis and Introduction to Analytical Geometry. In conclusion, the time management and study habits variables in the students of the FCEH curricula, directly influence the achievement of competences in the subject of Mathematics II (p-valor <0,05; βi ≠0).
