This research was carried out in the lower jungle of Peru, in the department of Loreto, province of Maynas, district of Iquitos, whose objective was to determine the relationship between sustainable development and timber industries in the city of Iquitos during 2016, Present study was of a noun type, descriptive and quantitative, the design corresponds to a non-experimental, descriptive and transversal study, relating the cause-effect variables; With the results obtained it is demonstrated that the sustainable development of timber companies are related to the economic, social and environmental aspects that allow to measure the progress achieved in this sector, after the processing and analysis of the results the following conclusions were reached, The timber companies have few programs or social strategies contemplated in the social dimension of sustainable development, only one company Martin SAC Triplay showed a percentage of 52.7%; Also in the economic dimension this company had the highest percentage of acceptance with 27.3%; In the environmental dimension the results are relatively considerable to think that companies follow the principles of sustainable development with programs and strategies that support their social, economic and environmental dimensions, the logging company Zapote SAC has the highest acceptance rate with 68.4 %, Depending on the statistical significance of the variables, the hypothesis raised is accepted because there is a significant statistical relationship between the timber industries and the application of the principles of sustainable development
