The petreos aggregates constitute a fundamental tool for the construction industry, which is one of the main activities for the economy growth in a country or in a region, thus helping the society’s wellbeing. However, due to its environmental effects, the extraction of these materials becomes an activity which may generate oppsite effects, even more when there are signs of illegal and informal exploitation creating oppsite effects in the environment, economy and society. Regarding the mining activity, the aggregate pétreos or arid, or simply aggregate, is part of the exploitation of non - metallic minerals in the industry of construction. The term aggregate comes then to ferer to any combination of sand and grava (small stones), and constitute around 75% of the volume of typical mix of cement. In this investigation it was studied the process of exploitation of wholes of quartz white sand in the influenced area of the Iquitos - Nauta Highway, between 4 – 31 kilometers, finding therefore that the geological aspects and the formation process of these quartz white sand had already being studied by the Finland Corporation, the Institute of the Investigation of the Peruvian Amazon IIAP, the National University of the Peruvian Amazon UNAP and the Scientific University of Peru UCP. However, the effects, of the exploitation, selling and trading have not yet being studied; existing only some diagnostics of the high potential of exploitation and knowledge of both, the physic and mechanical properties of some wholes in different fields of study of Civil Engineering. As a final result, an analysis of the supply and demand of the quartz white sand for the industry of construction is presented, revealing the horizon of exploitation of this resource until 2027. Sustainability then is analyzed through the application of the ´Sustainability Test´, thus evaluating some technical, environmental, legal, economics, social and cultural aspects, concluding therefore that in the current conditions of exploitation, selling and trading the quartz white sand of these wholes are not sustainable.
