The objective: To characterize the adverse reactions by NSAIDs in hospitalized patients in the surgery service of the regional hospital of Loreto “Felipe Arriola Iglesias” 2010. Methods and design: Applicative and transversal of observing type, explicative-descriptive. The sample was made with 177 patients. The methods used were record of the information and the instruments used were: clinical report and notices, format of report of suspicion de ADRs modified by the researcher to future research (validity of 97.60 %, trusty of 79.00%) format of suspicion report of ADR from EsSALUD and the modified algorism of Naranjo to Assessment of the relation of coincidence of a ADR. Results: The 31.6% of the patient were between 18 and 30 years old, which 22.6% were men. With regard to weight the 36.7% were between 51 kg and 60 kg. The main NSAID prescribe was the metamizole with 61.0%. From 1.1% of patients prescribed with acetylsalicylic acid, only one presented prolonged time of blooding. From 42 patients who presented suspicion of ADR, 31.0% 18 and 30 age olds, been the male sex the main frequency with 57.1%. The transtorn of the GI tract is the reaction main frequent, according to WHO, with 66.7% because of NSAIDs. The reaction of type A presented with main frequency 90.5%. The ketorolac reported more cases of ADR with 42.5% the adverse drugs reaction of reported were probable in a 42.9% with predominance in the male sex (28.6%) with regard to gravity; the most of cases reported were ADR non-serious (61.9%) most in the male sex (38.1%).the 80.8% of ADR no serious, did not have treatment, in the 56.3% of serious ADR, was stopped the applied of suspect drug, while the 31.3% got treatment. Conclusions: a) The age that prevailed was between 18 and 30 years old. b) The main frequency was the male sex and the percentage belongs to patients with 51kg to 60kg weight. c) The acetylsalicylic acid the time of blooding in patients prescribed with this kind of NSAIDs. d) The coincidence of the adverse reactions were probables. e) The gravity of the adverses reactions were non-serious, with predominance in the male sex. f) The adverses effects most frequent were nauseas.
