The present research work aimed to: Generate basic descriptive information for future genetic improvement work by morphological characterization of genetic variability in seven accessions of (Manihot esculenta Crantz), using morpho-agronomic and evaluation markers or descriptors. It was carried out in the Zungarococha farm, owned by the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (UNAP), the Roots and Tubers project, belonging to the Faculty of Agronomy, 45 minutes from the city of Iquitos whose coordinates U.T.M. they are West Longitude: W 73 ° 22 '10.4 ”LS :, S 03 ° 50' 13.2; Altitude: 118 meters above sea level. Province of Maynas - District of San Juan Bautista. The research level was descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective. The sample under study was made up of a total of 70 plants of 07 cassava accessions, taking 10 plants per accession. According to the results obtained, it is concluded: for the qualitative morphological descriptors of stem, leaf, flowers and root, there is phenotypic variability in the seven cassava accessions (Manihot esculenta Crantz). From the relationship and association between qualitative morphological descriptors of the stem with leaf, of the leaf with flower and of the flower with root, a significant relationship and association was found between the color of the stem with the color of the mature leaf, the color of the sepal of the flower with color. flower stigma, flower sepal color with root bark color and stigma color with root bark color. The most distant cassava accessions in terms of their variability profile in the qualitative variables according to the Jaccard Similarity index, are Motelo rumo, yellow cassava and brava cassava with 0.19, 0.33 and 0.36 respectively. According to the multivariate analysis of principal components for ten quantitative descriptors of the stem, leaf, flower and root, in principal component I, the descriptors that most contributed to the variability but negatively were length of the central lobe of the leaf (LLCH) with –0.47, the length of the reserve root (LRR) with -0.46 and the positive contribution was the fresh weight of the reserve root (PFRR) with 0.50. It is suggested to contrast routes of genetic variability obtained with routes obtained with molecular descriptors in the cassava accessions studied.
